The Lake View King Suite checks all the boxes for your romantic getaway on the water.  Therefore, reserve now to experience the peace and calm of this waterfront retreat.    Physical-distancing is natural due to the scale of this intimate, lakeside hideaway.  Therefore, don’t settle for a big, noisy hotel when, for instance, you really want a peaceful, waterfront stay.  Maybe you live down the street but will feel miles removed once you step through the door.   After all, vacation is a mindset.   And, local pubs and restaurants are conveniently only steps away.  So, book with us if leisure and relaxation are your priorities.

What Space Can You Access

This is your home away from home.  The common area of the 1st floor, sundeck, and rolling lawn is shared with other guests.  However, the kitchen and other bedrooms are off-limits.  This property does not have a pier and jumping or swimming in the lake is prohibited.  Lastly, quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.  NOTE:  Due to COVID-19, breakfast is not available (and the kitchen is off-limits).

Take the stairs to the Lake View King Suite, which offers a great view of the water and sky.  You can watch boats at play even while curled up in bed.  Your lap-top friendly workspace allows you to keep an eye on the view, and, of course, WiFi is free.  Above all, relax and treat yourself to the oversized soaking tub.  We supply soaps and thirsty towels.  Just bring your toothbrush!  Sweet dreams.

Ark Guest House

A rich history awaits at the former poker house of Captain Muecke’s dynasty.  The status symbol of the 50s was to clad walls with real knotty pine and cedar.  The Captain was also a wooden boat designer for his shrimp and oyster fleet that spanned the entire Gulf Coast.  The Captain had the vision to elevate the property for a commanding view of his fleet returning to port, hence the hill you drove upon.  Comfortable as an old glove, this maiden of the sea has witnessed many a storm atop this lookout where fortunes were won and lost.

You’ll feel ‘almost’ off the grid in this hideaway.  Yet you are in the middle of it all, where Clear Lake converges into Galveston Bay.  Slow down and let the breeze wash over you.  Take in the sunrises and sunsets, along with seaside activities, festive boat parades, and fireworks displays.

With mild winter weather, this is the perfect base for day trips to Houston and Galveston while just a stone’s throw from two of Texas’ top attractions.  The Kemah Boardwalk (restaurants, live entertainment, thrill rides) and home of manned space flight, Space Center Houston.  Enjoy water sports, nearby fishing spots, boat launch, birding trails, and 10 minutes to the beach.  There’s fun for the whole family.
